Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Location: Moorpark, California

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you’ll join a well-established company with over 50 years in business, providing essential support to our accounting team. In this role, you will oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate billing, payment processing, account reconciliation, and customer account management. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to resolve billing issues, apply payments, monitor outstanding balances, and help maintain the organization’s financial health.

What You’ll Do:

• · Apply customer payments, credit memos, chargebacks, and short pays in NetSuite (NS) and reconcile accounts.
• · Monitor customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and adherence to payment terms; communicate with customers on past-due balances.
• · Investigate and dispute chargebacks with customers.
• · Collaborate with internal teams (Shipping, Order Entry, and Customer Service) to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate invoicing.
• · Maintain accurate aging reports, document collection efforts, and prepare AR reports.
• · Assist with customer credit checks, monitor credit limits, and process credit card payments.
• · Support RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processing and issue credit memos for returned items.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• · Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• · 2 or more years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting functions.
• · Experience working with ERP/accounting systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• · Strong understanding of payment application, chargebacks, credit memos, and reconciliations.
• · Familiarity with credit checks, collections, and credit card payment processing.
• · Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• · Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• · Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• · Ability to analyze account discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• · Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general reporting functions.
• · Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and internal departments.
• · Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
• · Experience working cross-functionally with shipping, customer service, and order entry teams is a plus.
