Title: 2025-2026 7th  Grade Teacher - ELA 

Compensation Range: $49,000 - $55,000 

Schedule: Full-time, exempt position, typically Monday–Friday from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional evenings for events, meetings, and professional development. 

Location: San Diego, CA 

As Nazareth School San Diego’s 7th Grade Teacher-ELA, you’ll join our vibrant school community where you'll inspire young minds in a supportive, faith-filled environment. You’ll bring learning to life through engaging lessons, technology integration, and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with California State and Diocese Religion Standards.  

  • Create a positive classroom environment that supports student engagement, independence, and growth.  

  • Tailor instruction to diverse learning needs, emphasizing academic, social, and emotional development.  

  • Integrate hands-on activities and educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom, IXL Learning) to enhance learning experiences.  

  • Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and communicate results to parents through reports and conferences.  

  • Lead daily prayers and integrate Catholic teachings into classroom activities, including planning class Masses.  

  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with parents via newsletters, meetings, and conferences to support student success. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • College degree in education or a related field. 

  • Cleared California Credential, preferred multi-subject (or ability to obtain). 

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 

  • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic values (preferred). 

  • Two or more years of teaching experience in an elementary education setting, preferably within a Catholic or faith-based school 

  • Proficiency in developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with California State Standards and Diocese of San Diego Religion Standards. 

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive and engaging learning environment. 

  • Expertise in differentiating instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities. 

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and use student data to inform instructional decisions. 

  • Proficiency in educational technology tools, including Google Classroom, IXL Learning, Accelerated Learning, Wonders ELA Program, and Sadler Vocabulary. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. 

  • Understanding of Catholic school philosophy and the ability to integrate religious teachings into the curriculum. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage time effectively, and respond promptly to communication.

Compensation: 

Salary range between $49,000 - $55,000 annually 

Compensation will be determined by a number of factors including educational background and experience.
