Title: Director of Clinical Service  

Location: San Diego, CA 

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for overseeing clinical operations within an assisted living community. This role involves leadership and management to ensure compliance with regulations, high levels of resident satisfaction, and effective communication with residents, families, and staff.  

Responsibilities include managing clinical programs, maintaining quality care standards, and promoting a positive work environment. The Director of Clinical Services plays a crucial role in upholding the community's reputation for excellence in care delivery and fostering a supportive environment for residents and staff alike. 

SALARY:  $100,000 - DOE

What You’ll Do: 

  • Ensure operations align with Facility's Mission and Values, embodying Victoire’s Legacy, encompassing a commitment to sharing the love of God through ministries of care, all delivered with compassion and respect.  

  • Provides clinical oversight for assisted living services, ensuring high-quality care delivery at the community.  

  • Plans, coordinates, and evaluates Memory Care resident programs to enhance resident well- being and engagement.  

  • Compiles and maintains accurate records and statistics related to resident care and program effectiveness.  

  • Monitors medication administration and documentation for compliance, reviewing records for areas of improvement.  

  • Collaborates with Executive Directors, Nursing staff, physicians, and others to coordinate care and develop performance improvement plans.  

  • Conducts medical assessments for new admissions and ongoing resident assessments.  

  • Offers regular support for resident care needs and follows up on care-related issues appropriately.  

  • Develops positive employee relations, incentives, and recognition programs to foster a supportive work environment within the clinical department.  

  • Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication among staff members.  

  • Monitors staff compliance with OSHA mandates, workplace safety policies, and infection control protocols, including COVID-19 prevention measures.  

  • Coordinates in-service training on health conditions, ADLs, medication management, safety, and regulatory compliance for staff.  

  • Communicates directly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure high-quality services.  

  • Ensures compliance with all CCLD procedures, reporting requirements, and internal policies.  

  • Maintains knowledge of State Regulations and updates for CCLD, communicating critical issues with the Executive Director.  

  • Supports management and development of vendor relationships related to clinical services.  

  • Maintains current knowledge of Alzheimer's/dementia topics and participates in relevant training sessions.  

  • Facilitates the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for licensed clinical personnel and care staff.  

  • Available for on-call duties as needed and ensures move-in paperwork compliance.  

  • Provides support and addresses concerns related to resident interactions, changes in condition, and family issues.  

  • Manages licensing requirements, including plans of corrections, and addresses resident and care staff issues promptly.  

  • Oversees employee scheduling and conducts performance reviews for care staff.  

  • Coordinates all resident tours and ensures eligibility for move-in.  

  • Conducts monthly meetings with Nursing/Med Techs to review departmental needs and address any concerns.  

  • Provide support to the Executive Director as needed, including assuming leadership responsibilities in their absence to ensure continuity of operations and compliance with regulatory requirements. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • Degree from an accredited Nursing school 

  • Current RN/LVN licensure 

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in healthcare settings, including at least 3 years in assisted living leadership 

  • Knowledge of CCLD regulations 

  • Understanding of the facility’s culture, care requirements, and regulations 

  • Must demonstrate good character, integrity, and physical/mental capability 

  • Required to undergo health screenings and possess an Adult First Aid card 

  • Must obtain DOJ/FBI clearance 

  • Clean driving record required 

  • Current DSS California Administrator Certificate and required continuing education 

  • Significant experience in licensing compliance  

  • Expertise in elderly care  

  • Strong organizational skills  

  • Proficient verbal and written communication abilities  

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements  

  • Proven leadership and management experience in similar settings  

  • Politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy in handling complex and confidential situations  

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization  

  • Strong problem-solving abilities  

  • Ability to maintain professional and courteous relationships with employees, guests, residents, and vendors  

  • Effective time management, project management, and decision-making skills

Compensation: 

Salary range starting at $100,000 per year
