Compensation: $20 - $22 an hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Los Angeles, CA
The Handy Man is a vital leader in the daily operations of the Maintenance Department at Nazareth House Assisted Living. In this hands-on role, you’ll guide and support the Maintenance Technicians and Driver, oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance using the TELS CMMS system, and play a key role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. The Maintenance Lead also manages department scheduling, monitors timecards through ADP, ensures vendor compliance, and provides critical oversight of routine operational reporting to keep everything running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervise and support the Maintenance Technicians and Driver, ensuring timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility.
- Develop and manage daily/weekly work schedules through TELS, making real-time adjustments for absences, emergencies, or changing priorities.
- Oversee the use of the TELS CMMS system, ensuring accurate entry of work orders, preventive maintenance, equipment logs, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor and approve timecards, attendance, and shift changes through ADP, ensuring accurate payroll and staffing records.
- Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors, verifying insurance compliance and supervising onsite work for safety and quality standards.
- Obtain competitive bids for major projects, presenting proposals to leadership for review and maintaining organized project documentation.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and support emergency preparedness protocols including generator checks, fire drills, and disaster readiness.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related field preferred.
- 3 or more years of maintenance experience, preferably in healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care environments.
- 1 or more years’ experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Proficient in TELS or other CMMS systems.
- Familiar with ADP or similar timekeeping and payroll software.
- Knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and vendor compliance practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation: Hour rate between $20 - $22, may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on individual and the company’s performance.
Compensation will be determined by a number of factors including educational background and experience.
