Title:  Accounts Payable Clerk 

Location:  Oxnard, CA 

Hours:  Part-time; 30 hours per week 

Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour 

Herzog Wine Cellars is currently seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to support our accounting team. In this role, you will assist with processing accounts payable, maintaining vendor records, and supporting general administrative tasks to help ensure smooth financial operations. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Obtain and process vendor invoices and statements 

• Match invoices to purchase orders or packing slips when applicable 

• Enter invoices into accounting systems (QuickBooks, Esker, and Accountmate) 

• Verify employee expense reports and receipts 

• Maintain and update vendor 1099 status records 

• Print weekly checks and match check stubs to invoices 

• Process American Express statements 

• Perform weekly filing and maintain organized financial records 

• Provide vendors with additional information as needed 

• Answer phone calls and respond to emails 

• Prepare bank deposits 

• Shred confidential paperwork as needed 

• Support the Controller and assist with other duties as assigned 

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

• High school diploma or GED required 

• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel 

• Ability to type 50 words per minute 

• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Esker, or Accountmate preferred 

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills 

• Experience operating standard office equipment (computers, phone systems, copiers, scanners, etc.) 

• Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work effectively with vendors and team members across all levels of the organization
