Associate Attorney – Litigation (Pre-Trial Focus)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney – Litigation to join our growing legal team. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in hands-on civil litigation work, values direct client engagement, and is comfortable taking ownership of matters in a collaborative yet independent environment.

This position offers meaningful responsibility across all phases of pre-trial litigation, with exposure to complex civil matters in both state and federal court.
 

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

• Manage and support a docket of civil litigation matters through all stages of pre-trial litigation
• Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence
• Conduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and other litigation proceedings (including in-person appearances as needed)
• Collaborate closely with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members in a professional and responsive manner
• Contribute to case strategy, risk assessment, and overall litigation planning and execution
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely compliance with deadlines in a fast-paced environment
   

What We’re Looking For

• Active California State Bar license in good standing
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• 5+ years of civil litigation experience preferred, with strong emphasis on pre-trial work
• Proven experience in:
  • Motion practice and drafting persuasive legal briefs
  • Discovery management and strategy
  • Deposition preparation and attendance
     
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Comfortable with court appearances, depositions, and direct client interaction
• High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational discipline
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team-based environment

Compensation: $150,000 salary, plus discretionary bonuses with a guaranteed minimum of $175,000.
